“Bramble Reborn” is an exciting documentary about the adventures of the crew of “USCGC Bramble”, a restored Coast Guard Cutter now owned by civilian adventurer and entrepreneur Tom Clarke. Featuring exotic (and often dangerous) locations, riveting dive expeditions, and fascinating historical facts, this film takes viewers on an epic journey from the sparkling blue seas of the Caribbean to the treacherous waters of the Northwest Passage.
In 1957, along with the cutters "Spar" and "Storis", USCGC Bramble headed for the Northwest Passage, traveling through the Bering Straits and Arctic Ocean.
These three surface vessels were the first American ships to circumnavigate the North American Continent, an ambition mariners had dreamed of for more than 400 years.
Now 62 years later, the question is: can she do it again?
“Bramble Reborn” is produced by Sheep Gang Productions, a Canadian company specializing in marine voyage documentation. We at Sheep Gang Productions feel honoured that we’ve been chosen to document the new voyages of the reborn USCGC Bramble. Our small but highly skilled team has fully integrated with Bramble’s sailing crew and will be following her route every step of the way on her exciting voyage.
Producer Bill Wiley and Director Geoffrey Holmes are hard at work filming the new adventures of USCGC Bramble as she attempts to re-create history: a voyage to circumnavigate the North American continent! They are shooting with surface cameras, aerial drones, and ROVs (remotely operated vehicles) to capture all the action in glorious 4K, which has four times the resolution of standard high definition video. Please check the website often for updates of the journey's progress. And don't forget to join our mailing list: click here.
